Thursday, September 23, 2010 Indianapolis Marriott Downtown
The Big Brothers Big Sisters of Central Indiana 37th Annual Gourmet Dinner presented by St. Vincent Health will take place Thursday, September 23, 2010, at the Indianapolis Marriott Downtown. As always, this traditional sports-themed event features a famed sports speaker, a gourmet meal, and fantastic prizes! With 1,000 of the city’s top business and civic leaders in attendance, this is an excellent opportunity for networking and recognition, as well as for entertaining clients or recognizing exceptional employees.
This year, Big Brothers Big Sisters of Central Indiana is proud to present Bob Knight as the featured speaker. In college basketball, the name Bob Knight is synonymous with greatness and winning. In Knight’s career as a head coach, he recorded 902 wins – making him the winningest coach in NCAA Men’s Division I history. Bob Knight is his own man, one who represents high principles, expectations and demands for his players, his coaching staff and, most of all, himself. But he is foremost an educator. His ability to teach young men the game of basketball and the game of life is one of his most noted characteristics. After 41+ years as a head coach at the Division I level – 29 of which were at Indiana University – Knight announced his retirement from coaching in 2008. His coaching achievements were honored in May of 1991 when he was inducted into the Naismith Memorial Basketball Hall of Fame. He is currently an analyst for ESPN College GameDay. Sponsors will enjoy personal encounters with Knight through invitations to the VIP reception and preferential seating at the event – all culminating in a first-rate experience for employees, guests and clients.
Big Brothers Big Sisters of Central Indiana develops mentors committed to helping boys and girls grow into the next generation of caring, confident, and competent adults. Through sponsorship, you have a direct and lasting influence on the lives of young people.
