Outcomes of Site-based Mentoring Programs

Of our “Littles” who have participated in mentoring relationships in a Big Brothers or Big Sisters site-based program, researchers found the following results:

  • 46% developed more positive attitudes toward school
  • 55% were better able to express their feelings
  • 58% achieved higher grades in social studies, languages and math
  • 64% developed higher levels of self confidence
  • 60% improved relationships with adults
  • 56% improved relationships with peers
  • 62% were more likely to trust their teachers
