Why Is Training Important?

Big Brothers Big Sisters of Central Indiana believes that proper training yields successful mentoring relationships.

Through the Mentor Training Institute, BBBSCI offers a menu of valuable training opportunities for mentors.

At BBBSCI, training is an important and intricate part of our enrollment process. All Big Brothers and Big Sisters will be required to attend a Mentoring 101 workshop.

Additionally, other relevant training opportunities—listed below—will be available to support the mentoring relationship along the way.

Mentoring 101

Description – This training session is required for new and current Big Brothers and Big Sisters and is an interactive, practical session that discusses the role of a mentor and addresses the benefits of mentoring. We also share tips and techniques vital to helping you build a successful relationship with your “Little.”
